Effective January 31, 2023, the 509th Bomb Wing commander, has updated the COVID posture for Whiteman Air Force Base. He has renewed the Declaration of Public Health Emergency and shifted the base to HPCON Alpha, the following changes are effective immediately:
The measures for HPCON BRAVO that impact us all are:
- The CDC COVID-19 Community Level in Johnson County, MO is now LOW. Masks are not required for vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals in facilities on the installation.
- The new COVID-19 Community Level guidelines do not apply to healthcare facilities and mask wear is still required in the clinic on base.
- Reinforcement that members who are ill must stay home.
Units are responsible for defining the appropriate number of people allowed in work centers and event space based on the ability to social distance. - The CDC and Youth Center will maintain current capacity and follow current installation mask policies. - The installation dining areas will be kept open. - Masks are not required in the fitness center. - No change to organized sports or PT testing policies. - No travel radius will be implemented for members on leave or pass status. Airmen should contact their chain of command with any questions regarding this policy or any of the associated changes.
Whiteman Air Force Base will be administering COVID vaccines to interested DoD cardholders and beneficiaries 5 years of age and older. Please see below for instructions on how to schedule your appointment.
FHP 15 Rev 3 Highlights:
- Isolation following a positive COVID-19 test result (tests include: At home, PCR, Antigen, Presumptive):
- All persons (regardless of vaccination status) isolate at home for 5 days from date of collection of positive COVID-19 sample (day 0)
- May leave if asymptomatic or free of fever for ≥ 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications and if other symptoms have improved after the 5 day isolation. Then continue to wear medical grade masks around others for an additional 5 days.
- No quarantine regardless of vaccination status
- Close contacts must test at least once after 5 full days of exposure
- Close contacts must wear a mask indoors for 10 days of exposure
- Any individual that becomes symptomatic during quarantine will seek testing as soon as symptoms arise.
- If positive, member will start a 5 day isolation period from the date of collection of COVID-19 positive sample (day 0)
- If negative, member must still complete a full 5 day quarantine from last close contact with COVID-19 positive person. If symptoms continue into day 5, prior to release from quarantine, member must contact their PCM for consultation and possible additional testing.
- In all situations, for a full 10 days after last close contact with COVID-19 positive person, members will:
- Continue to self-monitor for symptoms
- Avoid crowds
- Practice social distancing
- Practice hand and cough hygiene
- Maintain adequate indoor ventilation
- Perform environmental cleaning and disinfection
- Wear face mask on and off base while indoors
COVID Testing can be scheduled by calling (660) 687-2188.
Testing priority will be given to Active Duty members, while dependents will be referred off base.
The clinic is exploring expanding hours for testing.
-Pfizer Vaccine: Open to all who are eligible for regular and booster doses.
Walk in times: Monday, Thursday and Friday - 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
-Moderna Vaccine: Open to all who are eligible for regular and booster doses.
Booster Shots are available to all ages.
Walk in times: Tuesday and Wednesday - 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Pediatric Pfizer Vaccine: For children ages 5-11.
Walk in times: Monday, Thursday and Friday - 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Make sure to contact Public Health (660-687-4305/4307) if you are tested for Coronavirus or if you have been identified as a close-contact of an individual that has tested positive. Remember to leave a voicemail afterhours and weekends for a call back within 24 hours.
