The App is powered by AFConnect. USAF Connect is an Air Force-wide mobile app designed to enable, engage and empower Airmen by centralizing and increasing access to the information they need for their careers. In addition to providing headquarters-level information, local units can maintain Sub Apps, accessible through the USAF Connect Favorites Portal. Lastly, the App does not collect or store personally identifiable information (PII) or any other information subject to the Privacy Act of 1974.
Collection and Use
General use of the App to retrieve and display content does not result in the collection or use of any personal information. However, you can use the App to contact us to request specific information, ask a general question, or provide a comment. When you contact us via the App, we may collect personal information about you, such as your name, email address, phone number and mailing address so that we can contact you or respond to your request. We will only use the information you provide to respond to your message or fulfil your request, and the information will not be shared except as provided below. The App itself does not store any personal information, and any personal information provided to us via the App will be handled and protected in accordance with Department of the Air Force security and privacy policies, which may be found at http://www.af.mil/Disclaimer.aspx.
We may collect nonpersonal technical and usage information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, date and time you accessed the App, and your mobile operating platform, for purposes of operating and improving the App. This nonpersonal information will be used to create summary statistics used to assess what information is of most and least interest, determine technical design specifications, and identify system performance or problem areas.
We may share your information with third parties in the following situations:
Third-Party Service Providers. We may use third-party service providers, including AppMachine and Google Analytics, to help provide or improve the certain aspects of the App. We may share your nonpersonal information with these third-party service providers so that they may provide their services to us.
Legal Purposes. We may provide your personal information to third parties as required by law or to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement authority.
Health or Safety. We may share your personal information when we have a good faith belief that there is an emergency that poses a threat to the health or safety of you, another person, or the general public.
With Your Specific or Implied Consent. If you contact us with a request to obtain information or assistance from a third party we may share your personal information with that third party pursuant to your request.
Third-Party Social Networks
You may be able to access third-party social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+, from our website. For example, when you “Like” one of our posts, that post may appear on your Facebook page. Third-party social networks have their own set of information practices and privacy policies, and Whiteman Air Force Base is not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these forums.
The App is designed and intended for use by adults and is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it is our policy to not knowingly solicit or permit children under the age of 13 to provide their personal information for any purpose. In the event we learn we have inadvertently collected personal information from children under the age of 13, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete it.
For security purposes and to ensure services remains available to all users, government computer systems employ software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage. Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information via this App are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
