509th Mission Support Group

The 509th Mission Support Group is comprised of six squadrons with more than 1,800 Air Force and contract personnel in the Air Force's only B-2 wing. The group provides support for emergency operations, readiness, security, construction, communications, fire protection, human resources, food services, fuels, transportation, supply and family support.

Civil Engineer Squadron

The 509th Civil Engineer Squadron maintains and operates a 5,566-acre base complex. CE provides engineering, alterations and new construction, fire protection, disaster response and explosive ordnance disposal services. 

The unit maintains 3.98 million square feet of real property worth $1.8 billion, 43.83 miles of roads, 815K square yards of parking lots & driveways, and 1.756 million square yards of airfield pavement. Additionally, protects and conserves natural resources, produces 176 million gallons of drinking water and treats 189 million gallons of waste water, supports 890 family housing units, 5 unaccompanied dormitories - 627 rooms and manages contracts in support of B-2, A-10, T-38, MQ-09, and UH-60 aircraft. Members of this squadron deploy worldwide in support of contingency operations and nuclear deterrence missions.

Contracting Squadron

The 509th Contracting Squadron delivers innovative and agile contract support by shaping our processes to meet Whiteman's mission requirements. 

The unit's mission is to deliver timely acquisition capabilities and sound business leadership with discipline, expertise, and integrity to the installation and mission partners.

Communications Squadron

The 509th Communications Squadron provides superior communications services with first-class customer support to enable the 509 BW to generate and project combat power for more than 6,000 personnel at Whiteman Air Force Base.

The unit provides trained and ready communication-information professionals in support of air and space expeditionary force requirements. They support the nation's B-2 fleet, both in-garrison and deployed to forward operating locations; an A-10 wing; an attack helicopter battalion; and naval special warfare/intelligence units.

Force Support Squadron

The 509th Force Support Squadron enables global strike capability by providing unrivaled support readiness, sustainment, development, and community services to the men, women, and families of the Whiteman community. 

The Force Support Squadron consists of nine flights: Airman and Family Readiness Flight, Child and Youth Services Flight, Civilian Personnel Flight, Community Services Flight, Force Development Flight, Manpower and Organization Flight, Military Personnel Flight, Resource Management Flight, and Sustainment Services Flight. In addition, the unit is also responsible for the installation's Airmen Leadership School, Casualty Affairs, Honor Guard, and Mortuary Affairs programs.

Logistic Readiness Squadron

The 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron provides time-sensitive transportation of personnel, household goods, aircraft components and general-purpose cargo. 

The 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron provides primary supply, equipment and fuels support to B-2, A-10 and T-38 aircraft. They plan/implement the wing's wartime mobility taskings. The unit manages and maintains a $69 million, 678-vehicle fleet, and also manages and stores more than $781 million in mission-critical materiel for 76 organizational units.

Security Forces Squadron

The 509th Security Forces Squadron provides security for all personnel, protection-level resources and other base assets assigned to the 509th Bomb Wing and tenant units on Whiteman Air Force Base. 

The skilled professionals of the 509th SFS defend stealth firepower, U.S. resources, and the Whiteman community, "Anytime ... Anywhere," with 24-hour security coverage using mobilized patrols and static posts within the base.
