Team Whiteman celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Tech Sgt. Alan Lin, the Team Whiteman Asian Pacific American Heritage Association vice president, displays Chinese New Year envelopes on May 28, 2020, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Lin immigrated to the United States in 1997 and obtained his citizenship while in the U.S. Air Force. During Chinese New Year, money is put inside red envelopes which are then handed out to younger generations by their parents, relatives, and even close neighbors and friends. Displayed on the red envelope are firecrackers, ancient Chinese currency and Chinese letters that read “Happy New Year”. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Thomas Barley)
