Base housing office to host home buying seminar Published June 17, 2008 By the Whiteman Military Family Housing Office WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo., -- Have you ever wanted to sit down with a mortgage lender and ask questions about buying or selling a home? Do you know the difference between VA, FHA, HUD, Fannie Mae, or would like to know the difference? Should you mortgage a home for 30 or 15 years, should you consider a fixed mortgage rate over an adjustable mortgage rate? Should you refinance? These are just some of the questions that we must consider before buying a home. The Military Family Housing Office in conjunction with United Missouri Bank will conduct a Question and Answer Seminar on home buying July 9 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The housing market is very volatile and most people don't understand the in's and out's of the home buying process. So now is the time to talk with a lender, ask questions, have no pressure from a salesmen telling you what you should do. This is just straight answers to help you become a more informed home buyer and relieve some of the stress you may be facing. This seminar is open to all DoD cardholders, military, civilian, and spouses. The Military Family Housing Office is located at 101 Gray Lane.
