Whiteman AFB takes Lee Summitt family on Pilot for a Day tour

Emil “Batman” Conley from Lee Summit, Missouri, laughs at his brother, Manny Conley, as he tests the egress system during his Pilot for a Day tour on July 19, 2019, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Aircrew Flight Equipment specialist perform maintenance and coordination of seats, hatches, canopies and modules, to ensure that pilots can make a safe escape in case of emergency. Emil has medulloblastoma, which is the most common malignant brain tumor for children, and accounts for about 20 percent of all childhood brain tumors.
