Whiteman AFB takes Lee Summitt family on Pilot for a Day tour
Tech. Sgt. Christopher Lineberry, quality assurance, 509th Operations Support Squadron, test an anti-gravity suit on Emil “Batman” Conley from Lee Summit, Missouri, during the Pilot for a Day tour on July 19, 2019, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. An anti-g suit is worn by aviators and astronauts who are subjected to high levels of accelerated force. Emil has medulloblastoma, which is the most common malignant brain tumor for children, and accounts for about 20 percent of all childhood brain tumors. Whiteman AFB collaborates with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to coordinate these tours. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Thomas Barley)
