Running in Remembrance
A remembrance ceremony was held in honor of National MIA/POW Recognition Day at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., Sept. 21, 2017. The opening ceremony included remarks from a guest speaker and the 509th Bomb Wing vice commander, Col. Mark Ely prior to the lighting and passing of the torch. Each squadron, along with several other Whiteman groups, participated the 24-hour-long run.
