Exercise Combat Hammer demonstrates global strike capability of B-2 Spirit
Total Force Airmen assigned to the 509th Maintenance Group (MXG) and the 131st MXG participate in an annual exercise known as Combat Hammer on the flightline at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., May 8-12, 2017. Combat Hammer is an in-depth analysis of Team Whiteman’s conventional weapon employment capability. It involves the MXG Airmen building and loading weapons on the aircraft, then analyzing the impact of dropping those weapons in different orders, from different altitudes, and different angles of attack on the training range. By demonstrating this entire process, the Total Force team is able to assess the reliability and lethality of the B-2 Spirit’s weapons system. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Danielle Quilla)
