Secretary of Defense visits Team Whiteman

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel visits with Airmen as part of a farewell tour Jan. 13, 2015 at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. During his visit, Secretary Hagel held a troop call where he addressed questions from the joint service crowd. He also spoke about the importance of Team Whiteman and its mission of ensuring a strong and reliable strategic deterrent to any adversary. The key, he said, is that our adversaries not only know and trust that we have such unique deterrent capabilities, but also that they believe we will use them if necessary.
