Kansas City jazz
Airmen from the 442d Fighter Wing waved the giant flag on the field of Royals stadium October 14, 2014 with their counterparts from the Army and active duty Air Force out of Whiteman Air Force Base. More than 100 volunteers from Whiteman AFB participated in the flag detail that accompanied the national anthem and an aircraft flyover that open the third game of the American League Central Series. The anthem was performed by saxophone, as a nod to Kansas City’s cultural jazz heritage. (Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Emily F. Alley)
