Ceremony honors Whiteman legacy
SEDALIA, Mo., - Nephews of 2nd Lt. George A. Whiteman, from left to right, Dr. Glenn Berry, Lake Tapawingo,Mo.; Dean Berry, Columbia, Mo. and George Williams, Bolivar, Mo., lay a wreath at Whiteman's grave marker at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia May 17 to honor the fallen aviator who lost his life during the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
