509th firefighters bring the heat
WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. - Senior Airman Bryan Daspit, 509th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, gives the thumbs up to begin training after getting the aircraft training structure lit, Sept. 2. Enlisted and civilian firefighters battled hot flames for several hours during training in an effort to keep their qualification and skill up-to-date. The exercise is conducted once a year, and firefighters are put into several different scenarios where they are forced to react quickly and accurately.
