509th EOD responds to suspicous package in Warrensburg

Tech. Sgt. Michael Shumate, 509th Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, wearing a bomb suit, carries X-ray equipment toward a suspicious package in order to identify the contents of the package and determine if it is a real threat. The package was discovered that morning in the parking lot of Community Behavioral Healthcare in Warrensburg with a note attached stating “to you from God.” Once the contents are determined, EOD then decides whether the package can be isolated and properly disposed of, or if a threat exists, must be disposed of on scene. The package was later found to be empty. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Jason Barebo)
