Judging a “bark” by its cover
“Louis,” winner of the “Biggest Bark” and “Shortest Hair” awards, takes time out for an interview with a Whiteman videographer during the 6th Annual Bark in the Park June 16. “Louis” belongs to Senior Airman Dustin and Mrs. Styx, 509th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. There were 55 canines and more than 100 people who enjoyed 18 fun contests including awards for Pet-Owner Look-Alike, Biggest Dog, Most Feminine, Biggest Bark and Most Convincing Beggar. All pets received lovely parting gifts as reminders of their afternoon of Bark in the Park. Natalie Smith, Whiteman Vet clinic and Connie Koch, Whiteman community activities center, were hosts for the event and Ken Briles, Whiteman Recreation Center, was the master of ceremonies.
