What it takes to keep the squadron running

Maj. Ryan Link, 393rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron assistant director of operations, carries some of his personal gear to the awaiting vehicle that will take him to the aircrew flight equipment section. There, Major Link will be issued his survival gear before he is taken to his pre-flighted jet. In this feature article, Major Link provides rarely seen insight of the many things it takes to run an operational flying squadron and in particular shares the contributions of the Airmen who comprise the aircrew flight equipment shop.
