WHITEMAN AFB, Mo. - Airman 1st Class Luis Fontanez Jr., 509th Security Forces Squadron, stands guard at the tail of a C-17 Globemaster, July 17, during the 509th Bomb Wing’s Defense Nuclear Surety Inspection July 16-22. More than 130 inspectors from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Air Force Global Strike, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Combat Command and Air Force Inspection Agency evaluated 509th BW’s ability to provide deterrence and global strike operations and takes place every 18 months.
