Whiteman 509th Maintenance Squadron
An Airman with the 509th Maintenance Squadron grinds down a section of a B-47 Stratojet wing as a part of the pre paint job process, Nov. 11. The B-47 was a major innovation in post-World War II combat jet design and helped lead to modern jet airliners such as the B-2. The Stratojet now serves as a static display at Whiteman AFB.
