442nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

Josh Smith, 442nd Maintenance Squadron, communicates with other maintainers during a phase inspection on an A-10 Thunderbolt II March 15, 2011, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. Phase inspections are performed on the fleet of A-10?s every 500th flying hour. The inspection takes about two weeks which allows the 442nd maintainers to completely break down the aircraft and take a thorough look at it.
