Eyes on target
Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.--Senior Airman Jacob Blumbrich and Staff Sgt. Jarrod Phelan use a range finder and GPS to mark the target location and relay the information to the pilots on Cannon Range near Ft. Leonard Wood Oct. 13. The range is operated by the 131st Fighter Wing Detachment 1 and develops, maintains and improves an air-to ground bombing and strafing range to provide realistic environments for training and testing. Airman Blumbrich and Sergeant Phelan are Tactical Air Control Party technicians completing the Joint Tactical Air Controller upgrade training at Cannon Range. Sergeant Phelan is a tactical air control party Airman assigned to the 14th Air Support Operations Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, N.C. and Airman Blumbrich TACP assigned to the 15th ASOS, Fort Benning, Ga.
