Eyes on target

Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. -- Staff Sgt. Jarrod Phelan, a tactical air control party Airman assigned to the 14th Air Support Operations Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, N.C. looks up at the sky to get a visual of the A-10 Thunderbolt II at Cannon Range Oct. 13 during a 30-day career upgrade training field exercise. Sergeant Phelan is a joint terminal attack controller (JTAC) student. As a JTAC Airman, he will be responsible to direct the action of the combat aircraft engaged in close-air-support and other offensive air operations providing life saving mission support.
