Talon maintenance: The little things count

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Jim Sales and Randy Tapley, M1 Support Services contractors, replace a T-38 Talon's nose gear tire and bearings during an Hourly postflight inspection here July 3. Keeping the Talon in the sky requires M1 employees to conduct a scheduled HPO inspection every 225 flight hours, including the aircraft's airframe gear mounted box's oil and filter replacement, checking the engine power packs for proper oil servicing and ensuring wing security.
