Whiteman's 442nd FW supports Michigan ANG
WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. - Lt. Col. John Marks, 303rd Fighter Squadron A-10 Thunderbolt II pilot, conducts an engine check on his aircraft here Sept. 21 before flying to Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., to support the base while its members are deployed to a forward operating base in Afghanistan. Approximately 20 maintainers from the 442nd Fighter Wing deployed to Afghanistan in September for a six-month deployment where they will support the Michigan Air National Guard through aircraft maintenance and operations.
