Whiteman Cub Scouts crossover at the spring campout Published June 17, 2008 By Laura Larocque Whiteman Pack 405 Assistant Cubmaster WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo., -- Spring is here and Whiteman Cub Scout Pack 405 is having great fun and adventure! Cub Scouts and their families gathered at the Knob Noster State Park May 16 for a graduation/crossover ceremony and campout. During the ceremony, some of the boys were awarded their individual achievement awards. Additionally, the older Cub Scouts tied the next rank's neckerchief on the younger Scouts to signify their new status in the pack. At the end of the ceremony, the oldest boys crossed over the Arrow of Light Bridge to join the Boy Scouts. Several Boy Scouts from Troop 509 placed the Boy Scout epaulets on the newest Boy Scouts to signify their entrance into the Troop. The Whiteman pack is planning an active summer by participating in the Knob Noster Parade, attending Day Camp in Clinton, hosting a swim party on base and holding another camp out, just to name a few. The Whiteman Cub Scouts is open to boys who are entering grades 1 through 5 in the fall.
