This past week, the 509th Bomb Wing had the opportunity to showcase revolutionary airpower and Airmen to Sagar Pathak, a journalist for World Airshow magazine and associate editor for In Flight USA magazine. Both publications reach audiences nationwide.

More importantly, Mr. Pathak isn't just another journalist working for another magazine. He's the creator of Horizontalrain.com, a Web site that showcases his art and experiences traveling abroad including a wide array of civilian and military aviation events such as the FIDAE Air Show in Chile and Red Flag at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

Mr. Pathak's Whiteman itinerary included visits to the maintenance professionals, interviews with the base's leadership, interaction with Airmen from a variety of careers across the base and culminated with a T-38 ride with B-2 chase.

In Mr. Pathak's own words from his blog, "This was such a wonderful week. I had a chance to do something truly amazing, and even more important, get a chance to meet the men and women of Whiteman AFB. I got to see the most technologically advanced bomber in the world, fly in the back seat of a T-38, but the best part was to be able to tell the stories of the hard work and passion that Team Whiteman has for its famed bomber. To quote Col. John Robinson, Vice Commander of the 509th Bomb Wing, 'Whiteman's greatest weapon system does not come with a serial number or a tail number, it comes with a social security number.'"

The instant feedback from Mr. Pathak's Whiteman visit can also be read on his blog:

"After seeing all the pictures of both the aircraft and the folks which keep it flying and secure - I am truly amazed, and my respect for the down-on-the-ground Airman to high-above-in-the-sky driver has increased to a different level. Great job in show-casing what they do, and how they keep everything in shape," said an entry made by an individual who goes by Kedar June 18.

"Awesome, brilliant!! In fact even the most superior adjectives fall woefully short to describes these shot, and I bet the experience would have been 1000times more exhilarating so!! Great angles on the B-2 not to mention some stupendous flying by the Air force to provide u with such great angles. Kudos to the entire team for pulling it off! Lastly a salute to the Airforce again for their skills and such stupendous work!" said an entry from Shiva June 18.
