Leadership is something that is discussed often amongst officers as well as enlisted Airmen. Good leadership can push the ones under a supervisor to work harder making the shop more effective and efficient. Becoming a better leader is something that takes patience and practice as well as dedication on behalf of the leader.

Airmen looking to become leaders must be willing to put in the time to learn from people who have filled leadership roles and excelled in them.

The Air Force Association provided Airmen with an opportunity to learn from experienced leaders with a leadership seminar at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., April, 24, 2015.
The seminar offered a civilian, senior enlisted noncommissioned officers' as well as a commissioned officer's perspective about leadership.

"Effective leadership gives Airmen motivation, boosts morale, and keeps levels of professionalism high," said Staff Sgt. Saleisa Lampkin, knowledge manager from the 509th Communications Squadron. "In the future I will make sure I set the example for my Airmen and leave no room for excuses."

With more than 100 Airmen in attendance ranging from junior enlisted to senior commissioned officers, it is evident that there is room for growth in becoming a more effective leader.
