509th MDG appointments now online

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo --  Has your child ever woken up in the middle of the night with a high fever? Now you don't have to wait until the next morning to call the appointment line.

Do you wish that you could quickly make an appointment at the base clinic right at your personal computer instead of trying to work the phone system? You now have an option with TRICARE Online. TRICARE Online is a 24-hour appointment system accessible from any internet-connected computer in the world.

Almost every appointment type offered at the 509th Medical Group is now available for online booking, making scheduling an appointment at the clinic quick, easy and convenient.

All appointments will continue to be available through the appointment line if patients prefer not to use the online booking option. Online booking is only available to patients enrolled in TRICARE Prime at the 509th MDG.

To book an online appointment, you can log on to the TRICARE Online Web site at www.tricareonline. com. First time users will need to register in order to receive an account and password.

To register, click on the "log on" icon at the top of the home page, and then follow the prompts to register.

A separate account is required for each family member since the TRICARE Online program matches appointments to each patient based on assigned PCM, age and gender.

After logging in, select the "appointments" icon at the top of the page. Scroll down the page to the "book an appointment" section. From the drop down menu, select the desired reason for the appointment.

After selecting the reason for the appointment, a list of available appointment dates and times will appear.

Select the date and time you would like to book and follow the prompts to book the appointment.

Once selected, you will be prompted to give a brief description of why you need the appointment, for example: "I need my cast removed." After you make the appointment, a summary will appear including which provider the appointment is with, the appointment type and the time.

If you need to cancel a booked appointment, it is easily accomplished with a few clicks on the main appointments screen.
