Airman 1st Class Joseph Robin, his wife, Molly, and their 11-month old daughter, Charli, were welcomed into a new home on Vosler Avenue Aug. 21 in the new Bear Lake base housing subdivision during a ribbon cutting ceremony here  .

Brig. Gen. Robert Wheeler, 509th Bomb Wing commander, his wife, Rachel, Dan Walsh, the president of Walsh Construction, and many other guests shared in the occasion with the young family.

The ceremony allowed guests to view the new floor plans first-hand as they toured the home. The Walsh construction team was on-hand to answer any questions as well. Ken Nugent from the 509th Civil Engineer squadron and the Whiteman Family Housing Office staff played key roles in the planning and execution of this event. AAFES provided furnishing for the home so guests could visualize all the decorating possibilities.

"This ceremony and open house is a perfect example of the great teamwork and cooperation we see daily here at Whiteman," said Joe Joyner, 509th Civil Engineer Squadron asset management chief.

"The partnership between the base, Corps of Engineers and Walsh Construction has been phenomenal," continued Mr. Joyner. "The end result, as you've seen today, is outstanding homes for our Airmen and their families. We also recognize the tremendous support from AAFES in furnishing the model home. The entire event was a huge success."
