Government funds are being lost every time someone incorrectly disposes of government products according to Mrs. Sandra Vance, 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron customer service support manager. "DRMO's mission is to provide the Department of Defense's services and deliver performance to customers for the reuse, transfer, donation, sale or disposal of excess and surplus property," said Mr. Stephen Johnson DRMO site manager. Personnel looking wishing to dispose of any government property must follow a process. The 509th LRS customer service support manager offers the following information about the process here and answers common questions. Q: What can I turn in to DRMO? A: Anything procured with government funds must be returned to the local DRMO. Depending on what the property is, depends on how it gets disposed or reutilized. Q. Who do I contact to turn in government property? A. Customers must contact 509th LRS at (660) 687-1165 or e-mail customer service box at 509lrs.custsvc@whiteman.af.mil to schedule an appointment. Q: Why is it important to return government items to DRMO? A: All items are important to turn to DRMO, because it allows for proper tracking of government equipment. The DoD, Federal, State and local governments all benefit from items being turned in at DRMO because it saves local tax dollars by proper disposal. All items must be returned to DRMO, no exceptions. Failure to comply with regulations could be punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
