Air Force Global Strike Command Senior Airman Joshua Brymer, 509th Maintenance Squadron Aerospace Ground Equipment journeyman, was awarded the Chief's Choice Award by the 509th Bomb Wing Chief's Council, Sept. 29, for his outstanding knowledge, dedication and overall excellent attitude, according to Chief Master Sgt. Dan Peters, 131st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

The monthly award, selected by the Whiteman Chief's Group, recognizes E-5's and below who exemplify 'Service Before Self,' and dedication to the mission, fellow Airmen and their families.

"Airman Brymer volunteered to deploy to Red Flag, Alaska," said Chief Master Sgt. Steven Gardner, 509th Maintenance Operations Squadron. "During the deployment, Airman Brymer assembled four-50 ton jacks within three of the six-hour standard, facilitating the first-ever outdoor/apron B-2 gear swing. He mobilized 31 aircraft ground equipment units with zero frustrations ensuring a 100 percent staging and cargo mission times.

Additionally, Airman Brymer logged more than 60 on-time AGE deliveries which were lauded by the 13th Bomb Squadron commander.

"He also fixed an electrical power unit saving more than $4,200 in replacement cost. He repaired a burner control unit wire harness averting a possible ground mishap and injury to maintenance personnel," said Chief Gardner.

Sergeant Brymer said he was proud to receive the award.

"It is an honor to be recognized with the Chief's Choice Award and to have my accomplishments lauded," Airman Brymer said. "It really keeps me motivated to set a great example for all the younger Airmen."

In addition to a certificate of recognition, award winners also receive a $25 gift card, food court meals and movie passes, courtesy of the Whiteman Base Exchange.
