Celebrate National Children's Dental Health Month Published Feb. 13, 2015 By Master Sgt. William Winslow 509th Medical Operations Squadron WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- The month of February is set aside every year as National Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM), a time to focus on oral health education for all children. The American Dental Association (ADA) began sponsoring the event in 1949 to promote the importance of good oral health beginning at a young age. This nationwide program has educated millions of children across the country over the last 65 years by working through schools, public facilities, community groups, military bases and dental offices. In support of the NCDHM celebration, Whiteman Air Force Base dental flight personnel will be providing presentations at Whiteman Elementary School. On Feb. 21 from 9 a.m.- noon, dental staff will host an educational booth at the Base Exchange. Free sport guards will also be available to patrons.
