WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- The Warrensburg Police Department has identified an Airman assigned to Whiteman AFB as the suspect of an off-base, off-duty shooting resulting in a fatality in Warrensburg, Missouri, yesterday.
The suspect, Senior Airman Glyzua Ingram assigned to the 509th Maintenance Group, was found deceased in a wooded area near the incident scene after the shooting.
“We are saddened by the tragic incident that unfolded in Warrensburg. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends, and with everyone in the Warrensburg and Whiteman AFB communities who are coping with this,” said Col. Joshua D. Wiitala, 509th Bomb Wing commander. “We are committed to supporting the investigation and providing resources and care for those affected during this time.”
The incident is currently under investigation by the Warrensburg Police Department, and the wing is fully cooperating with their efforts. No further information will be released at this time.
