WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- The 509th Medical Group Pharmacy is launching Q-Anywhere, a new virtual queuing system designed to significantly improve the prescription process for patients, starting Sept. 22.
This Defense Health Agency initiative prioritizes convenience and efficiency, offering a streamlined experience for both new and renewal prescriptions. Q-Anywhere allows patients to initiate prescriptions remotely via text message or QR code, eliminating the need to wait in the pharmacy lobby.
Currently, the pharmacy processes prescriptions as they are received, which can lead to unpredictable wait times for patients. With Q-Anywhere, patients will have more control over when and how their prescriptions are processed.
“We’re thrilled to bring Q-Anywhere to Whiteman AFB,” said Maj. Lauren Koehn, Pharmacy Flight commander. “This technology will enhance patient convenience, address communication challenges, and allow our team to focus on delivering quality care.”
What patients need to know:
Activating New/Renewal Prescriptions: Patients must now initiate the prescription process. Simply text “GET IN LINE” to 1-877-200-6516 or scan the QR code (available at the pharmacy and on handouts) during duty hours. A pharmacy technician will assist via chat after a few initial questions.
Prescription Pick-up: Patients will receive a text message when their medication is ready for pick up. Patients can join the pick-up line at the pharmacy.
Refills: Patients can refill prescriptions via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal or by calling 660-900-2742.
Turnaround times:
• Urgent prescriptions: Available the same day.
• Routine prescriptions: 24 business hours.
• Refills (via Portal or automated line): Up to 72 business hours.
Important Details:
• Information Needed: Patients will need their DOD ID number (found on the back of their Common Access Card or Beneficiary ID Card), or name and date of birth.
• Multiple Family Members: The system accommodates requests for multiple family members. After entering the DOD ID number and receiving confirmation, patients can click the home button and start another request for additional family members.
• Unknown Medication: If patients are not sure of the name of the drug prescribed, when prompted to “Enter the name of the prescriptions to activate,” patients can enter any of the following: (1) the date their medications were sent to the pharmacy, (2) the provider who prescribed them and/or (3) what the drug is for (i.e., antibiotic).
• Unclaimed Medications: Medications not picked up within 10 calendar days will be returned to stock, and the activation process will need to be restarted.
Transition Assistance: Demonstrations will be held in the pharmacy lobby through Oct. 6, 2025, to assist with the transition. More information is available on the Whiteman TRICARE website or by contacting the pharmacy.
Pharmacy Location/Hours: The pharmacy is located at 331 Sijan Ave and is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays and Air Force Global Strike Command Family Days after noon.
