Whiteman Spirit Award Published June 20, 2007 WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Linda Reiling 509th Maintenance Group, received the Whiteman Spirit Award from Col. Eric Single, 509th Bomb Wing vice commander, June 18. Col. Bob Dulong, 509th Maintenance Group commander, nominated Ms. Reiling for the award. "Linda performs an outstanding rendition of the national anthem, and gives freely of her time to support honoring our troops," said Colonel Dulong. Ms. Reiling sang the anthem at the wing annual awards and the 509th MXG maintenance professional of the year banquets, Colonel Dulong said. She also sang at State Fair Community College in support of the Whiteman All-Schools Graduation, where many Whiteman troops received degrees, the colonel said. "Most recently, she sang at the 509th Maintenance Operations Squadron change of command ceremony -- and it was an outstanding performance," the colonel said. "She sacrifices her time and does a great service for the people of Whiteman."
