This annual trip to the Capitol takes an Airman who is an annual award winner or has been recognized as a superior performer and is preferably a native of Missouri who has never been to the Capitol, said Command Chief Master Sgt. Vicki Orcutt, 509th Bomb Wing command chief. "Going to the Capitol is a great experience in itself," Airman Teague. "Going with the installation commander and command chief made it a trip I'll never forget." Airman Teague along with Chief Orcutt and Brig. Gen. Greg Biscone, 509th BW commander, toured the Capitol to include the National Mall, the World War II Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, the Vietnam Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean War Memorial. The next morning they went to the Pentagon to visit with the Liaison staff, Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney McKinley, the members of the Missouri congressional delegation, including Senator Kit Bond, Congressmen Ike Skelton and Roy Blunt. "This type of trip is such an eye opening experience for our Airmen," Chief Orcutt said. "I am just glad I had the opportunity to share in that experience."
