WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. --  This all started my summer vacation at the beach. It was my birthday, and it was almost time to open presents. We had just eaten my amazing three layer chocolate cake. I was so excited, I just couldn't wait. I reached for a box with green and pink polka dots on it, but my mom said to save that one for last. Then I got even more excited to open it, but I managed to wait.

In the mean time, I opened a purse, make-up, shoes, and more make-up. Then finally she said I could open it. They only thing I said before ripping the paper was EEE!!! When I tore into it, there was another box. So I closed my eyes, and then opened the box, but I wished I had closed them again! I was in shock. There was the ugliest swimsuit ever. It had paw prints. Back and white is so not my color, I thought. Oh, yeah, I had to say I loved it or I would hurt my mom's feelings. So I said "I love it, it's so cool. Thank you." Then we, well, partied.

Then it was time to swim. I was scared. Would mom make me wear my new swimsuit> would I be the only one wearing paw prints? I mean, it looked like a muddy dog ran all over me, but I couldn't hurt my moms feelings. So there I was wearing it. Being the new girl this does not help my reputation at all!!

I tried avoiding people. When they were in shore, I was in the water. When they were in the water, I was on shore. Everything was going fine until I wasn't looking and... suddenly two voices said, "Say Cheese!" I turned around and there was a flash. After my eyes adjusted, I almost screamed. There were the coolest girls in the school. AHH! I forgot they were taking yearbook pictures. Was my life ruined? Well, at least my hair looked good!!
