The Air Force Assistance Fund came to a close here May 20th.

Team Whiteman exceeded their goal by contributing a total of 118 percent toward the initial goal.

The AFAF was established to provide for an annual effort to raise funds for the charitable affiliates that provide support to the Air Force family in need.

"We are very thankful for everyone's generous contributions and support," said Capt. Jason Mayne, Whiteman AFAF representative. "As Airmen it is our duty to be good Wingmen. The AFAF provides a great avenue for us to give back to our own when they are faced with unexpected challenges."

For every $1 donated here, Whiteman receives $4 in return, the captain said. Last year, the base received $217,105 in Air Force Aid, which provided aid directly to Whiteman Airmen.
