As Whiteman's Air Force Assistance Fund yearly campaign draws to a close, the ever-present need to support the programs associated with the fund warrants taking a look at just how much these programs have given to our own Airmen over the generations that the fund has existed.

Capt. Allen Clark, 393d Bomb Squadron, has been helped by AFAF twice in his life, first when he was only a small child and again in his college days before he was commissioned in the Air Force.

Captain Clark is the son of a command chief master sergeant who was once one of our own here at Whiteman. As a young enlisted troop, Chief Clark used AFAF funds to take his family home for his father's funeral when the family could not afford it on his pay.

Nearly 15 years later, when Captain Clark was attending the University of Central Missouri, his father knew to direct him to the educational grants offered through the AFAF to offset the costs of flying training.

The training paid for by the Air Force Assistance Fund helped Captain Clark become a pilot in the world's premier stealth bomber.

Two generations of one of Whiteman's families know the value of AFAF donations. If you have not already, please consider giving to the Air Force Assistance Fund. The contribution you make can make a difference in the life of a Whiteman Airman.
