The annual Angel Tree Program here is currently ongoing. Sponsored by the Whiteman First Sergeants Group, the Angel Tree Program provides Team Whiteman the opportunity to donate a gift to a local family in need.

"We typically put angels on the tree for those families who may have a lot of kids (some have four or more,) or young couples who are having their first Christmas together," said Senior Master Sgt. Kevin Wolfe, 509th Munitions Squadron First Sergeant. "(The program) is for families who might just need a little help providing for their children during the holidays. With the economy not as strong as it could be, sometimes just one more gift under the tree can make a big difference."

The first sergeant credits the success of the program to the support it receives from the community.

"All we do is provide the names and deliver the gifts," he said. "It's the Whiteman community that really makes it all work by taking an Angel, buying the gift, and donating it to a family."

Team Whiteman members can contribute by visiting the Angel Tree located at the Base Exchange. The tree features donation tickets for children of various ages.
