The 2010 Combined Federal Campaign, iCare, wrapped up Nov. 12 and Whiteman, an Air Force Global Strike Command base, exceeded its goal of $125,000 by raising more than $138,000.

Each year, the CFC allows servicemembers and civilians to make monetary contributions to their choice of more than 1,800 agencies, charities and organizations.

"I'm proud of Team Whiteman members for their generosity especially in these tough economic times," said Brig. Gen. Scott Vander Hamm, 509th Bomb Wing
commander. "It's important to remember that even the smallest of donations make a big difference for our Airmen and in our local communities."

One hundred percent of Team Whiteman's contributions will go directly to the organization as indicated by the person who donated.

The CFC kicked-off Sept. 29 and ran for six weeks with 1st Lt. Robby Gallegos, 509th Maintenance Squadron, spearheading the campaign along with co-chair Master Sgt. David Chase, 509th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron weapons section superintendent.

"Team Whiteman did very well and we appreciate the support from everyone," said Lieutenant Gallegos. "Each CFC coordinator made this year's campaign a success and I appreciate the time and effort they put into this campaign. I am pleased with how well everyone worked together."

Sergeant Chase echoed his praise.

"To all volunteers assisting in this year's campaign drive, I thank you and extend my heartfelt gratitude for all you contributed in making this CFC drive a success," he said. "I know it may not have been easy to come out of pocket to support this year's drive, but know that your contributions will mean a lot to those in need during these economic times. Additionally, I would like to say that each of you should be proud of the humanity you have shown to those in need and in what we have accomplished as a base community."
