It's tee time, and what better way to spend a spring day than helping the Whiteman community benefit while swinging a golf club on a bed of green?

The Royal Oaks golf course and the Whiteman Base Community Council are hosting the fifth annual R.E. Harris Memorial Golf Tournament April 29 at 11 a.m.

"This a wonderful opportunity for the community members and Team Whiteman to interact," said Chris Walker, BCC representative for Clinton, Mo.

The BCC financially supports activities on base to promote the morale, health and welfare of military members and their families throughout the year.

"Playing in this tournament is one way to help generate those funds," Mr. Walker said. "Sign up and come have fun while helping out."

The player registration fee is $60, which includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and a lunch. Military players and Department of Defense civilians pay $20 registration plus regular club fees.

The tournament is open to active duty, reservist, retirees, DOD civilians and dependents. The deadline for registration is April 24 and for more information about cost contact Mr. Walker at (660) 351-2132 or Royal Oaks at (660) 687-5572.
