More than 150 people participated in an Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the 509th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Key Spouse Group to boost morale at the Ike Skelton Park March 31.

"We're trying to bring families together to show them we care," said Lt. Col. Chris Boring, 509th AMXS commander. "It's important to get spouses better connected and there's nothing more fun than being seven years old and Easter Egg hunting."

Candy, for the hourlong event, was paid for by the senior noncommissioned officers and officers of the 509th AMXS. Eggs and refreshments were purchased by key spouses.

In addition to holding events like this one, the 509th AMXS Key Spouse Group has a duty to get information regarding different events to the other spouses in the squadron, according to Cindy Sanders, 509th AMXS key spouse group volunteer.

"Maybe someone's husband or wife is gone on a temporary duty assignment and his or her spouse isn't telling them about the events," Sanders said.

The 509th AMXS Key Spouse Group plans to have more events like this in the future, according to Sanders.

"This is our first event for AMXS but we are planning on organizing something every two months for the families," Sanders said.
