** April 9, 2020 Commissary Update**

NEW cloth face coverings: All individuals shopping at the commissary will be required to wear a cloth face covering while in the commissary. If you are not wearing a face covering according to the Defense Commissary Agency’s recent guidance, you will be turned away. This includes while waiting in line to enter the store. Please see the attached link for more information and speak with your chain of command for specific questions.

The Whiteman AFB Commissary will be re-opening with new procedures, April 7, 2020.

To protect Whiteman AFB from the transmission of COVID-19, the following procedures will be implemented:

- Only 45 customers will be allowed in the store at any one time (509th Medical Group Public Health may adjust this number to effectively safeguard patrons and employees)

- There will be fewer employees and baggers will not be available

- Maximized use of self-checkout

- New hours until further notice:

          - Tues-Sat: 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.

          - Sun: 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

          - Tues-Sun: 10:00 a.m.- noon will still be limited to Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, and their dependents

Team Whiteman leaders continue to encourage all Airmen, dependents, contractors and community members to practice good hygiene and limit travel as much as possible; it is a matter of public health and safety. Airmen, families, and retirees should only make pre-planned grocery shopping trips and should limit such excursions to no more than once per week, as to avoid interpersonal interaction. Commissary patrons should also practice physical distancing (6 feet or more) while entering, shopping, and exiting.

“As COVID-19 continues to impact our community, it is imperative that we remain flexible to ensure the health and safety of our force,” said Col. Jeffrey Schreiner, 509th Bomb Wing commander. “These new procedures, will minimize the possibility of transmission among members of Team Whiteman. As always, I expect Team Whiteman to exercise good judgement, practice physical distancing and continue to behave responsibly.”

Whiteman AFB remains at Health Protection Condition CHARLIE. Additional measures and restrictions may be implemented in the future. Team Whiteman is taking continued collective action to mitigate further impacts to the base and community, and commanders are committed to keeping Team Whiteman healthy and informed.
