WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Missouri --

The Whiteman Air Force Base Fitness Center will close Wednesday, March 18, at 8:00 p.m until further notice. This includes after-hours and Alpha Rig access.

To provide a safe facility, the fitness center has been practicing enhanced cleaning procedures, however the 509th Force Support Squadron has made the decision to close the facility based off recommendations from our health professionals, following the CDC guidance of social distancing.

“Our number one priority is maintaining the health and safety of our Airmen and their families in order to ensure the successful continuation of our mission here at Whiteman Air Force Base,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Jacob Wygant, the 509th Force Support Squadron commander. “We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and we hope to be open to our base community again soon.”

The fitness center track will remain open for physical training use, however we ask that patrons follow the social distancing protocols.
