Senior leaders and experienced personnellists with the Air Force Personnel Center held three career town hall briefings here Aug. 14, 2019.

Discussing personnel and manpower matters throughout the total-force, the AFPC experts tailored three briefing hours to the distinct needs for enlisted Airmen, commissioned officers and civilian Airmen.

The team covered promotions, professional military education, the permanent change of station order process, reenlistments, performance report stratifications, assignment process updates and various other need-to-knows for Airmen.

“We, at AFPC, exist to serve you all,” said Col. Julie Boit, AFPC director of military personnel operations. “So it’s really important we get to come out and you get to hear what we’re working on and also so we get your feedback so we can make changes. You can’t do that unless you have a conversation.”

Putting feedback at the center of their town hall meetings, audience members were able to interact with the AFPC team via a virtual, mobile phone “meeting pulse.” Reacting on-the-spot, AFPC representatives then fielded the most popular audience questions on stage and one-on-one after each event, ensuring every Airmen had the opportunity to ask their burning career questions.

“We talk to your leadership, we talk to you, and your feedback is something we love to hear,” Boit said. “These are things that matter to you. This is just another way to increase transparency with the field.”
