New deployment posture adopted at Whiteman: Team youth support Operation Spirit
WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. - "Airman" Andrew Cizek tries on a pilot’s helmet while on board a C-130 April 18 during Operation Spirit. Young "Airmen" were able to experience several aspects of deploying to help them better understand what their parents go through during a real-world deployment. Operation Spirit is a simulated deployment line for school-aged kids that allows children to experience what their military parents go through during a deployment. The "Airmen" were accompanied by their parents and received goodies form several base agencies. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Jason Barebo)
