Detachment activates
WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Col. Thomas Berghoff, 53rd Test Management Group commander, from the 53rd Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., watches as Lt. Col. Robert Tomasino unravels a new flag representing Detachment 2's activation here Nov. 6. Colonel Tomasino is the first commander for the newly formed Det. 2, 53rd TMG. The detachment determines effectiveness and suitability of new weapon systems and develops future combat employment techniques. The 53rd TMG also maintains computer systems critical to electronic warfare software and is responsible for worldwide simulator certification for 176 aircrew training devices.
