Grand opening
WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. – Maj. Kenneth Bottari, 509th Munitions Squadron commander, Brig. Gen. Garrett Harencak, 509th Bomb Wing commander and Major Michael Fitzgerald, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, cuts the ribbon for the grand opening of the new Igloos in the Weapon Storage Area Jan. 7. The munitions igloo project broke ground in May 2006 as a joint effort between Army Corp of Engineers, 509th Security Forces Squadron, and 509th MUNS. The completion of the igloos created 10,000 square feet of floor space to house a variety of bombs and other munitions items. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Samuel A. Park)
