WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. ? Tech. Sgt. Alec Arjona, 509th Medical Group lab technician, operates a hematology analyzer, a new addition in the lab, Dec. 17. The analyzer gives a precise count of white and red blood cells and hemoglobin and will notice any abnormal cells within the test specimen. Once a blood sample is taken it is sent to the lab to be analyzed by a hematology analyzer. If the analyzer detects bacteria, the blood sample will undergo a culturing process.
