Colonel MARK D. REYNOLDS

Col. Mark D. Reynolds is the Commander, 509th Medical Group, Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. He leads 280 personnel and is responsible for ensuring the execution of an annual operations and maintenance budget of $13 million supporting wartime readiness at the Air Force’s only B-2 Bomb Wing. Col Reynolds oversees $27 million in civilian network healthcare, $1.2 million in services contracts, $2 million homeland defense assets, and a $54 million, three-facility medical campus providing 68,000 annual visits to 11,500 enrolled beneficiaries. He is responsible for the health and fitness for duty of 4,800 active-duty members including 1,600 personnel in the Personnel Reliability and Arming and Use of Force programs in support of strategic nuclear deterrence and surety. Additionally, Col. Reynolds provides medical support to the Missouri Air National Guard's 131st Bomb Wing; Air Force Reserve Command's 442nd Fighter Wing; Air Combat Command's 20th Attack Squadron; and the Missouri Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 135th Aviation Unit.

Col. Reynolds hails from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and received his commission after graduating from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, in 2001. Previously, he served eight years in the Missouri Army National Guard as a heavy equipment operator and was a branch operations manager for Norwest Financial (Wells Fargo), a Fortune 500 Corporation. Since his commissioning in 2001, he has served in three of the five Medical Service Corps’ functional areas, to include, the squadron, group and headquarters levels. He is married and has two children.
